The Role
I have really enjoyed my time with Macmillan. I have developed my CV with the skills I have learnt her but also developed a more professional approach to my work.
I was made to feel very welcome by everyone at Macmillan, and the work I produced was always extremely valued.
I had great support from my managers. I could go to them with any questions or concerns I had and they always made time to talk to me about these. We had weekly meetings to review my progress and planned what tasks I would be doing in the coming weeks.
I always had something to do, as work was often planned weeks in advance.
I felt I was trusted with lots of responsabilty. I was often left to do my work, planning and prioratising my time to ensure these tasks were completed.
I don't think the skills I have developed will help greatly with my degree as I study engineering, however they will be very valuable in my future career path.
The Company
The atmosphere was generally good. Staff were always at work but would always be able to help if I needed any help.
Very well organised, with the work I would be doing planned weeks in advance.
I was given the chance to undertake online training courses in a wide range of subjects. eg how to use social media.
I could see myself working for Macmillan.
The Culture
I did my placement with another intern which was benificial. We had the chance to go to intern socials, but they were based in London and were difficult to attend.
I travelled to the office by car everyday. We often went out of the office for lunch, with lots of different sandwich shops nearby.
Not sure.
We could go out with the mobile information buses.
