The Role
I really enjoy the internship, it is really challenging and engaging. I have little previous experience in Media and communications so it has been very enjoyable learning so many new things.
I feel really valued and feel like I am making a valued contribution to the work the team does for Macmillan Cancer Support.
I think that the guidence I have been given is great. I am usually able to complete daily tasks without much guidance or support but when I do need some assistance, the team I am in are more than happy to help.
It varied a little, Some days I am very busy but on a couple of occassions I have ran out of things to do. It is not to much of a problem as I could usually find something else to help with. But I definitely prefer to be busy.
I think the level of responsibility was good. I was given enough so that I could get on and achieve things throughout my placement, other than when I first started the internship I haven't felt out of my depth but I have felt challanged. I think that is the correct level of responsibility for me.
I think my communication skills in a proffesional capacity will have greatly improved and this will come in extremly useful in the future when I finish my degree.
The Company
The working environment was really friendly, and also peacful which I found useful for being able to concentrate on what I was doing.
The Internship is very well organised including an induction and a wrap up day which are really useful for getting to meet other interns who are working for Macmillan.
Necessary training was given and regular discussions with supervisor were useful in seeing how work is coming along and what can be built on in the future.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
I would definitely be interested in future employment if there was a vacancy that suited me well when I am graduating next year.
The Culture
There was not really a social scene here, however I think in the Head office in London this is more of an option.
The cost of living is good.
I think the pubs in the area are great, I have not really been to any of the clubs so I cant comment on those!
Not here but again I think in head office this is different.
