    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I was really lucky to get on with the other interns so they made my internship even more fun. There are 60 in total and 30 in the bulding - so always someone to go to lunch with). I really enjoyed the actual job as well as the envirionment.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued by not only my colleague but my managers as well.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had a very good support team. My manager was excellent - really supportive, easy to talk to and good fun. I also had an intern manager within my team who was also helpful - providing specific support for anything intern related. Within the whole organisation there is a Intern Manager who looks after every intern who is lovely. The best thing about the internship is that we can have a mentor if we should want it. My mentor has been fantastic. I could not speak more highly of her. She has helped me improve my CV, got me on linked in and helped me not only plan for applying for graduate jobs but also helped me prepare and begin doing things now for jobs I may want in the distant future.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I think I had a good balance. I am in very busy department but I haven't felt overwelmed at all. I have been given my projects and how I choose to spend my time is my choice.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was lucky in that I member of my team left towards the beggining of my placement and still hasn't been replaced. So I have been given more responisbilty as I have been given things to do that normally would be down to her.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt a lot about event planning which is what I would like to do. There are lots of training opportunities - I stupidly haven;t taken advantage of this, But all in all I have learnt a lot.
