The Role
I really enjoyed all aspects of my internship and was given a variety of tasks which made it very interesting.
I was lucky to have a very friendly team that took an interest in my work.
My supervisor and entire team gave me lots of support and guidance as well as allowing me to work independently
I always had interesting work given to me and was rarely bored or over tasked.
I was given quite a lot of responsibility- from written to more practical work such as sourcing products for desk drops and telephone work.
I do believe I have gained a huge amount of insight and practical knowledge of PR and social media and am positive that these skills will assist me both in my degree and future jobs.
The Company
The office was relaxed, friendly and busy.
The internship was very well thought out and organised- we had a induction day with lots of other interns as well as a wrap up day. As well as that, there was a lot of support throughout the internship.
I think the time spent by my team and others in assisting, supporting and guiding me is testement to Macmillan's investment in their interns.
While I was here, there were several job vacancies but as I am currently a third year student I am unable to make good use of them.
The Culture
We got the chance to meet at the induction day and following this several intern events took place although overall there wasn't too much interaction.
As it is central London it was quite expensive
As a team we didn't go out, although the area itself has several nice places to go out.
There were lots of opportunities to get involved with fundraising for Macmillan etc.
