The Role
I loved it!
My team have been so lovely and welcoming, I got an induction with every member of the team and they told me what their job involves. This helped me to settle in and understand how the team operates. I have really been made to feel I am a valuable part of the team, rather than feeling invisable as I have done in previous internships!
I have weekly meetings with my manager to check my progress and I know I can ask anyone in the team questions whenever they come up.
Most days I had just enough work to make sure I always had something to do, without feeling overwelmed. There were a few moments when I feel I could have handled slightly more work, but appriciate that my team didn't want to give me more than I could manage.
I was given freedom and responsibility over my projects, but seeked guidance on everything I did.
My internship has developed me a lot, I have gained so many experiences, recieved extensive training, tried many things I had not done in the past and gained a lot of confidence.
The Company
Friendly, with wine'o'clock drinks every Friday, lots of friendly interaction and chit chat and a very relaxed atmosphere.
Although I missed the formal national induction day I was given an induction pack, a work plan and a development plan, as well as meeting with the head of the internship scheme. The head of the internship scheme also emailed me to check how I was doing half way through my placement. The weekly meetings with my supervisor helped to ensure I was always on the right track and the intern socials made sure I made friends during my internship.
I was given lots of opportunities to attend training, both internally and externally.

Such a lovely place to work!
The Culture
Yes, interns often have lunch together and there are some intern social co-ordinators who organise socials.
While I was able to stay at home it would be expensive to rent somewhere in London. The lunch allowance of £5 covered my lunch expenses.
There are a lot of bars and clubs in the area. I occasionally went for after work drinks at the local food market which was lovely.
Yes, there were advertisments for fitness classes, and the interns organised socials.
