The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship at Macmillan Cancer support. I highly recommend it. I was given numerous responsibilities and interesting tasks that have enhanced my CV. It was a rewarding way to spend my summer.
Macmillan has an extremely friendly and welcoming office environment, which made me feel very valued. The staff always included me in any activities or group emails and made me feel part of the team.
I was given constant support and guidance throughout my internship. I was given aims and objectives and had weekly catchups to review my work. My supervisors were happy to help with any questions at all times.
My workload was dependent on the specific projects I was set throughout my internship. At occasions the work could be quite slow, however weeks leading up to a project was much busier.
I was given responsibility for various projects, however my supervisors were always there for support.
The skills I have developed have greatly assisted me in improving my CV for the future.
The Company
The office atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed. There was a good balance between working hard and a social environment. There was always cake!
Brilliant. There was an induction day, constant catch ups, set goals and a round up day in London. There was a clear structure set out from the beginning.
I have no completed any training courses.
Flexi Time
National Travel
There doesn't seem to be many opportunities for graduate schemes within the organisation. However there are several volunteering opportunities always available.
The Culture
Unfortunately most of the social scene was located with interns up in London.
I lived close to the office so i was used to the cost. Given lunch and travel allowance
The area is local so I am used to the nightlife.
There weren't many opportunities for interns outside of London
