  • A really empowering placement if you are willing to work hard.

  • You are totally responsible for your task, at one point you will be running a store being the only manager in charge. You therefore need to be able to handle the pressure of the responsibility.

  • Improved my confidence in my abilities and business skills.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Plans were set up but these frequently changed. Retail is a fast paced industry so you need to be able to adapt and be flexible.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Training in the store format could have been greatly improved. Different individuals had varying levels of training which therefore put some IP's at a disadvantage.

  • Company Car

    Above 25 days holiday

  • The company car is only given to you when you are doing a lot of travelling.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We had dinners together occasionally and kept in contact with each other.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Normal prices for a non university area.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Surrounding areas such as Bath, Bristol, Swindon and Reading have a really good nightlife. Three of the previous places have universities so the nightlife is really good during term times.
