The Role
I really enjoyed my placement at McDonald's. Everybody was friendly and I gained valuable experience and skills that I will help me in my future.
My colleagues were very friendly; gave me warm welcome to the McDonald's team. Everyone seemed approachable and were happy to help.
My manager was extremely helpful as she gave me more responsibilities; supporting me through my projects and providing the right guidance throughout my placement. I also gained a good working relationship with my manager which also contributed to the great experience.
I had enough responsibility that gave me a lot of work to do which was beneficial to my learning. Also, I was not overloaded with any unrelated work.
After discussing with my manager what my future goals were, I was given the relevant and the right amount of responsibilities I was able to manage with my time.
The skills I have learnt during my placement will be something I will treasure and will be able to utilise in my future career as well as at my final year at university. I was able to grow confidence and develop new skills as well as enhance my current skills.
The Company
Everybody in the office were really nice, friendly and fun. It was a relaxed environment within the office where you could complete the work at ease without feeling pressurised.
Overall, the work placement was very well organised from the HR team, ensuring we had settled into our placement well and we had completed all the relevant training. Also my manager was very well prepped with giving me projects to work on or anything else that I could improve on, setting up training etc.
McDonald's UK Head Office was very supportive and determined to ensure we had completed all the necessary training that would enhance our knowledge on McDonald's. Also they ensured we were aware of what the office had to offer and all the procedures so that we were fully prepared for our time at McDonald's.

At the moment, there is no graduate scheme at McDonald's. However, if there is a vacancy available I would be more than happy to apply for. I may have to go through the interview process but I may have a higher chance as I have already had experience at McDonald's.
The Culture
All the placement students were friendly and set up regular socials to go out together.
As the Placement is based in East Finchley - London, the prices were slightly higher. The cost of living is typical average London prices.
The office is right next to the underground station, therefore it wasn't too far to travel around London. There were quite a couple of pubs around the area too.
There were a few opportunities to get involved in outside of work. These included team outings and activities to raise money for the McDonald's charity - Ronald McDonald House Charity (RMHC).
