The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement - the diverse range of knowledge I gained and the contacts in the industry I made.
I felt very valued and I was always made feel like I had something to offer or I was able to help rather than just a hinderance in the way
Any query or issue I had was resolved immediately and I always knew I had multiple people to turn to if I did find myself unhappy or in a situation
very busy - but in a good way that I was never looking for things to do and I felt valued in every area of the placement programme
on farm I was give a lot of responsibility after the first few weeks when I could showcase my knowledge and skills. I was also given responsibility in industry to carry out my own project work
the skills I have learnt and I have developed have set me up for a positive career ahead and also given me the confidence to tackle my final year head on
The Company
I was rarely in an office environment but when I was it was positive and enjoyable
very well organised and even in the midst of a pandemic it was very efficiently organised
heavily with a lot of training in different areas from health and safety on farm to presentation training and if I were to ask for extra training I'm sure it would have been approved
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
I think a career opportunity with McDonalds would be an option in the future however limited due to the size of the Ag team
The Culture
when we met for insight days yes
living was reasonable as I lodged and cost of living was also fine
no
there were a few opportunities but many you had to travel for
