The Role
I thouroughly enjoyed my placement and feel it gave me a great amount of experience in a number of HR related areas.
I felt welcomed into the team immediatly and received a lot of support from them throughout the year.
I continually felt I was supported throughout my placement and felt comfortable asking for help if I was having difficulties with a project.
I like to keep busy so I was very pleased there were always things I needed to do/ deadlines I needed to meet.
There were many projects I took responsability for during my placement. One of the biggest being that I was resposnable for replacing the 16 current Industrial Placement students. The team are happy to give you as much responsability as you like, providing you can show you are competant of doing the job well.
During my time at McDonalds I developed skills that will not only help me with my HR degree but also skills I will use in my career in the future.
The Company
The office is very lively which for me made a great working environment.
My placement was very well organised and my manager made sure I had experience in all areas of what the department got involved in.
The company hold training courses throughout the year which students can attend when they feel it necessary. Courses include; Presentation Skills, IT Skills and Teambuilding etc.

I will be going back to work for McDoanlds in my uni holidays and would love to return full time once I have graduated. Although the prospect has been mentioned I will have to wait until nearer the time to see if this is possible.
The Culture
A lot of the students lived together so we would socialise regularly. We would also spend time with our departments - going for drinks/ dinner etc in the week.
Very expensive in comparison to student life - but you live in London so can't expect anything less.
Although East Finchley doesn't have too much on, you are so close to central london there is always something to do.
I believe there were sports team you could get involved in. As I do not have a lot of interest in sport I don't know a lot about them.
