The Role
Excellent ethos to the charity, friendly and supportive colleagues, varied and interesting work targeted at building my skills and experience.
All very friendly and social. Each of those in my immediate department stressed to me to only take on work I wanted to be doing.
Brilliant support. Not only for the work I was doing but when applying for jobs I was given lots of advice and support above and beyond expectations.
Never bored but rarely swamped too much because manager and others were always keen to check my workload was manageable before giving me tasks.
Lots of confidence trusted in me.
I now have an excellent base in basic skills that will enable me to get a job, but also specific knowledge and advanced project and other skills and experience that will benefit me as I move up the job ladder.
The Company
Friendly, funny. Always social and interesting events and activities occurring across the large organisation and within smaller departments.
Brilliant planning. The scheme ran seamlessly and with very well structured events and checks throughout.
Huge emphasis on value added to interns. Lots of advice and experience given to me.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Evident they hire from pool of interns. Lots of opportunities.
The Culture
There is a specific social sec of the interns who organises events. Also informally go for lunch with other interns frequently.
Nice places in local area. Some places have great deals for Macmillan staff, 50% in some for really fantastic food. Still London though so a drink costs over 4 pounds.
Nice pubs, very central so you can get to fantastic places easily.
Sports and social both. Pub quizzes. After work drinks etc.
