The Role
I had an excellent experience at Morgan Stanley - the structure of the program was great, as one got exposure to many different parts of the business (rotational program). The program was organised well, and interns were given quite a fair amount of responsibility which made the experience even more tangible.
The work culture at Morgan Stanley is unique in terms of how flat the structure on trading floor is, while everyone is treated with a lot of respect.
I had the pleasure of working in excellent teams, where I was given a lot of guidance when needed - in general it is the case that when interns show enthusiasm and put in effort, people are more than happy to help interns to achieve their goals and progress in their learning experience.
Some days turned out to be quite hectic, however this is not a bad thing, it rather teaches the skill of time management.
Amongst other projects, I was working on presentations that were later on used to present to clients as I put them together - of course I was given guidance and my work was double-checked, however I could feel that my ideas/ creativity in those projects was appreciated and taken seriously.
The excel training was very useful. The financial market training was very helpful, for my internship but also for life and my future job.
The Company
I worked in great teams, with enthusiastic people, making my daily task highly enjoyable.
HR and all other people of the business that put the program structure together, as well as helped in carrying out event, as well as buddys and mentors all did a great job!
We were given access to a great software, prior to starting our internship, to get up to speed in all asset classes.
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
I am very looking forward to joining Morgan Stanley next summer.
The Culture
I made some great friends during my time at Morgan Stanley.
Many social events were organised for us by Morgan Stanley, such as bowling, boat racing or a club night etc.
Canary Wharf is a fun area to work at.
Interns were given the chance to participate in the Morgan Stanley Football Club, charity events and charity runs etc.
