    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Good social life and camaraderie, the work was interesting and provided a steep enough learning curve

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • To the extent where I was kept on for two extra weeks to help finish off the project, good-bye card, leaving party, the lot.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • In this industry you need to be able to find things out for yourself, no one wants to have to micro-manage you. However saying that support and guidance was there if necessary.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • First 2 weeks started off slow, then the work piled up and was very busy. It was my whole project though, so it wasn't just me, which made it less overwhelming.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Had to earn responsibility, started off with very menial tasks such as photocopying. Then as time passed I was responsible for key sections of the deliverable. If you're willing to take it on and you produce good work people are happy to give you responsibility.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The technical skills may not be useful, however the interpersonal and general consulting skills will be

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Although it is a professional services firm, the atmosphere is jovial. People seemed genuinely happy there and people were willing to offer all sorts of career/personal advice.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Although you were assigned to a project, sometimes the work doesn't get delegated and it's up to you to network and keep yourself busy.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • One week induction, lots of training and informative talks.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Have been offered a job in the department I interned in.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • If you wanted to, you could have gone out with the interns each night. Although I ended up staying later than most and didn't get a chance to partake to the same extent as others.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Central London

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?

  • 3/5
