The Role
I really could not have imagined a better placement
Depending how close we were to launch, certain times were busier than others. I was never bored or sitting with nothing to do. Although some days could be quite stressful.
So much of the work i did at McDonald's related back to my degree. I had the opportunity to work with all types of different agencies - Digital, Media, Advertising and Creative. I really got an insight into each of the different types of marketing and this was really helpful for knowing where i want to work in the future.
The Company
The marketing department is like a family. Everyone gets on so well inside and outside the office. At christmas we had secret santa and different competitions. Although it was a really fun atmosphere, the work still gets done. It a work hard/play hard office.
McDonald's has a really good scheme set up for placements. As there is so many placement students in all the different departments, it meant you were never alone if we had a problem. At the beginning of the year, we all attending different courses to help us in the work environment ( such as communication skills/ excel course)
There are always course being offered so we can improve on anything that may need it. Frequent meetings with the team also allowed anything that may have needed to be improved to be picked up on and worked on.

I met so many people with McDonald's. It was great for networking and meeting people from different companies. After my placement ended i did work experience with some of the different agencies.
The Culture
There was often placement students events and nights out, as well as each department having their own events too.
Depends where you go.
The office is right beside the tube station. Although East Finchley has some nice pubs, its so easy to jump on a tube and go anywhere in London.
