  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I very much enjoyed my time with Macmillan.

  • My colleagues were extremely welcoming and approachable. I could not have asked for a more positive and helpful environment to work in.

  • My line manager continually guided me throughout the whole process and was extremely approachable.

  • I always had a variety of work tasks to be getting on with.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a fair bit of responsibility. But, ultimately, all work had to be proof-read and checked over by one of my colleagues - which is the nature of PR and Media!

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The writing and communication skills I have developed will certainly assist me in my university degree.

  • Constantly fun and positive. You really felt a part of the team from day one.

  • Work was regular and routine. Should I have completed my list of things to do, my colleagues always had organised some more.

  • I was able to shadow and discuss with other departments, as well as attend workshops and conferences that helped enhance my overall experience.

  • A lot of interns are given employment opportunities within Macmillan on completing their internship.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There was a lively and vibrant social scenes with lots of chances to get to know your colleagues - including picnics!

  • Being London, the cost ws extremely expensive.

  • Also, being London, the nightlife was extremely vibrant.
