The Role
The fact that other students were employed at the same time as me - along with the people around me - made the experience very enjoyable.
I always felt part of the team, and was never treated as 'just a student'.
Whenever I required help I was given it.
I was steadily busy for the majority of the time, although there were times when my workload intensified as well as declined.
I was given the responsibility to operate independently, but was not given tasks which were hugely important.
I now have a much greater knowledge of how businesses operate, rather than simply a textbook understanding.
The Company
The atmosphere was always friendly and relaxed - going to work never felt like a chore.
Pirelli have been employing placement students for a number of years and are bvery accomplished at accommondating them.
I was taught a number of skills which I did not previously possess.
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
In the past, students have been employed by the company after their placement year.
The Culture
My fellow students and I were constantly socialising, often with non-student colleagues.
Living costs were reasonable.
The nightlife in the town I was situated wasn't great, but there was a city very close nearby in which to go to.
I participated in a number of activities - such as football - outside of work. Some were provided by the company whilst some were not.
