The Role
I had a blast. Working at McDonald's has really opened my eyes in seeing how much of a people orientated company they actually are.
There is a real sense of camaraderie amongst the the team I worked with, and I immediately noticed that Industrial Placements are the underpinning support function of their respective department. This was made clear from day one!
Throughout the year, I was always supported by my reporting manager and my direct team were always willing to help if I asked! What I was impressed by was the fact that once my reporting manager felt that I was comfortable with my projects, she let me work at it myself, developing my key leadership competencies.
I was immediately given challenging projects where I could develop my key skills and there was never a day where I was left twiddling my thumbs.
I was given two large projects from the get-go which were integral to the business and there was genuine interest from senior hierarchy. This was not an admin role, this was more of a junior project manager role.
Working in the Environment department was a fantastic experience, having the opportunity to get involved in various projects and work alongside experts in my field of interest. I have gained tremendous experience within a professional working environment that has in turn, seen my confidence soar. Networking and having wonderful people around me has also helped me enjoy the work I do. This has further encouraged me to develop my skills, which will benefit me in the future.”
The Company
The office itself was quite lively, however it definitely depended what floor you're on!
The riole was very well set up and the work load built up as the year went on to allow me to learn new skills and cope with the pressure as best as possible.
The company devoted a lot of time to me, mainly in one-to-one management contact for any problems I had.

The company is forward looking and if you prove yourself in any department you will be rewarded accordingly. No graduate scheme which is a shame

A few nice, local pubs, but there isn't much in East Finchley. Would recommend living somewhere like Angel or somewhere else on the Northern line.
