    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Overall an enjoyable year. The office atmosphere is one of work hard play hard and everyone is friendly and welcoming. Working for such a huge global organisation has been absolutely fascinating. I had no idea that I would learn so much in my placement year and would recommend it to everyone.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt like a very valuable member of my team, and had many responsibilities that extended beyond the marketing department, meaning that I was able to improve my networking skills.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • team were great at drip-feeding responsibility. I had a month-long handover with the current placement person which really helped get my head around the organisation and my role. When I felt comfortable with my workload the team were great at giving me additional responsibilities which kept my interest in the job role and increased my accountability which was a great motivator.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was given more responsibility when I was comfortable with my workload. Towards the end of my placement I had a little more time on my hands although can appreciate that the new Placement person would have had a lot of catching up to do!

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • he Marketing Department is great fun and you get to meet a lot of new people, especailly as we have a lot of external agencies that we work closely with (they also each have their own Xmas party which is a lot of fun!).

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement is well organised - I think it would have been very interesting to spend one afternoon each month shadowing another member of the marketing team working on other promotions.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Sent on loads of internal courses, and got to attend away days at the expense of mcdonalds. Mcdonalds heavily invest in staff development from store staff to HO staff.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
