    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I found myself bored quite often, but the people were very nice and sociable.

    2/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Mostly found myself included, sometimes a bit lost. Never felt socially excluded - lots of other students to socialise with.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Very good. Could have done with some more one-on-one evaluations.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Very bored quite often, especially towards beginning of the placement. Might have to do with length (only three months) and certain department, other students were fine.

    1/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Lots! Lead my own project, presented a lot and lead meetings.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Not sure, haven't gone back to uni yet but I have learnt a lot :)

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone's sociable and active.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Not a clear work plan (possibly because it was only 3 months), not sure where to go when I first arrived. Set up very well though, good with organising contract and medical.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Not much time taken to train me in any software use. Not as much development feedback as I would have liked.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Good compnay to work for - lots of benefits - but many people were negative about working there, put me off a bit.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Lots of events organised - 3 month placement students not included in 12 month students' inductions though so miss out on the scene initially.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • It's the North!

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Fun, students often out.

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yep - I was very impressed

    4/5
