  • -Checking the performance of an engine from the data produced using data analysis software -Calibration development -Transparency and tuning of models for simulation

  • I have developed main skills like communication, team work, leadership, independence but also learn soft skills to do with data analysis and using new software's etc.

  • As a placement student I was given a good amount of responsibility and the projects I was involved in were very well thought out. I was also able to ask for more work if I wanted.

  • I was given as much guidance and support as I needed. Generally everyone is very understanding as they know you are in a new environment so everyone helps towards you getting settled.

  • Don't have anything to compare it to but I believe the culture and the atmosphere is definitely one of the best out there from my perspective.

  • Highly recommend to anyone interested in this field not only for the learning benefit but due to how easy it was to settle and get comfortable in the role. The sky is the limit on how much you would like to push yourself and be proactive.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Cummins
  • Be confident in yourself and brush up on any technical knowledge you may be lacking on diesel engines as a whole before your interviews. Most of all enjoy your placement as it is only one year and gauge whether this is something you would want to do in the future or not.
