    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Working within this role at the company gives you lots of opportunities to work with many different functions of the organisation, including engineering, sourcing, plant quality, supply chain etc. Regarding current or prototype builds to ensure the quality of the product is to the standards of the company. In doing so you are helping with supplier quality documentation such as Part Production Approval Process or Source Releases. And tracking this data for the team.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • My MS office skills have improved immensely with the need for tracking of the projects and creation of presentations for visits to the suppliers. My cross functional communications have also improved having lots of opportunities to work with colleagues across the globe and different areas of the company when completing projects.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Throughout the progression of the role I was given more responsibility as my confidence and knowledge of the business grew. This included the lead role within multiple projects being the main source of contact for the other functions of the organisation and the suppliers to help with any issues or queries. With of course constant support of my line manager and other managers to help whenever help was required.

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • Throughout the placement there was constant support and guidance on hand whenever required. Which was communicated in weekly meetings and easy contact methods. With accessible trainings to boost knowledge and skills to assist with the job at hand. As well as the team that were either sat near you at the office or a teams message away with quick and concise communication.

  • The atmosphere of the company is friendly and easy going. Everyone within the company were happy to help and approachable to any issues or concerns that may be had personally or within the work place.

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I enjoyed the placement and has been great tool for networking within the business and outside of the business. Allowing me to get a greater understanding of how a business works and operates including the thousands of processes and despite living in a digital age the importance of face to face meetings.

  • Be yourself, show an interest in the company and the development of your own skills to the company. So that they can see you aspirations to be successful and the company will want you to be apart of that journey and given lots of opportunities to excel in your role and the development of your career
