  • Providing critical technical support to the plant, ensuring the production line maintains the targeting throughput, leading approvals on product deviations which may be required due to stock losses or compatibility issues. Completing product audits on engines, ensuring they were up to the required standards.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • I have developed all of the existing ones learnt during my university course. I have also developed the likes of communicating appropriately in a work environment. Improved my ability when beginning a new task. Cross-functional working, project management data analysis and finance/business acumen. And many more that I have developed without realizing.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Yes, Initially I was shadowing team members, but now have been given responsibilities to train new apprentices on a quartile rotation. Managing processes and being given the same tasks as which the engineers are. Consistently been given projects and tasks to complete independently whilst always being able to cross check with the rest of the staff.

  • I was mainly applying for a placement to look good on my CV and didn't think i would learn too much from it and wouldn't be given much responsibility but this has been far from that, I have learnt loads from this and believe I have learnt a lot and feel confident going back to university after with the volume of reports I have competed and work related to my degree.
