Overview
Every month I complete shelf life testing on newly released products to ensure they are aging safely, I carry out organoleptic testing as well as aw and ph. Lots of my projects are BIP, eg cost saving. Aiming to match the standard product. For sauces I use lots of machinery to replicate the factory process, for soups, which are dry I weigh out the powdered ingredients on scales.
Skills
Improved confidence - I use lots of complicated machinery independently, also having more faith in myself that I can do it . Time management - lots of projects, when I'm busy it's important to schedule time so I do the most important tasks first and manage my time effectively. Problem Solving - Working out which ingredient is causing certain flavours, as well as working under pressure to fix some issues eg ph that might occur when making a product.
Responsibilities
Most of my projects I worked on independently, although someone was always there to help if needed.
Support & Guidance
I was assigned a mentor who was very helpful and willing to help me when required, my manager as well as other people in my team were able to help me with projects and work.
Culture
Such a friendly place to work, I have made so many friends. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly.
