Overview
Every day is different! Most days I am on site, but I occasionally do work from home. I also travel to different sites regularly. The role involves getting a product from concept to launch. The role allows you to support on projects as well as take responsibility for your own projects. Things that you may get up to include concept recipe development, benchwork, carrying out sample requests, shelf-life testing, benchmarking, ideation sessions, trials, attending launches and monitoring production runs and weekly meetings. You collaborate with engineering, marketing and technical as well as external suppliers.
Skills
Skills I have developed definitely include knowledge around the food industry, communication, problem solving, presenting and driving confidence.
Responsibilities
Yes, I have been given lots of responsibilities (more so in the second half of placement) and I have been given several projects that I have responsibility for and lead.
Support & Guidance
I received lots of support, especially from my mentor and line manager. I could always ask for help/ ask any questions and know they will always support me.
Culture
The company culture is great. In the office it is like everyone is a big family and its a happy, relaxed, chatty atmosphere.

I really enjoyed my placement, and would recommend anyone to get placement with Premier Foods.
