The Role
I have really enjoyed my placement, and found it more enjoyable than a year at uni.
I was always able to get help when I wanted it, and felt welcome in the department.
Not constant support from my manger, however it is understandable as he is busy. I felt support was there if it was needed.
I was kept busy and always had something to do, some more urgent than others. I seemed busier than students in other departments.
After a few months I was put on a project which would otherwise have gone to an engineer.
Improved both technical and personal skills skills such as communication and confidence.
The Company
(Almost) everyone got along in the department, and also the building. Most people were also very welcoming of students.
Very organised, from departments to managers to HR.
I was given a lot of responsibility, some training courses and received a lot of support from the company.

THe placement has been very enjoyable, and the comapny seems a nice place to work, however I have nothing to compare it to so would like to get some experience in other companies/sectors.
The Culture
There is a good number of students to get along with.
Perhaps I could have looked harder - however if you want to live near town rent is quite expensive.
I have not been out myself much, however, there is a local uni so student nights and only half hour on a train to london
There are some oppurtunities.
