The Role
I really enjoyed my placement at Visteon. It was challenging, rewarding and the people are super friendly. They are willing to help you with whatever you need and answer any questions, which really helps when you first start out.
I felt very valued by my colleagues. They treated me as if I was one of the team, not just a student. They were always including me in anything they could, so I could gain as much experience as possible.
I was always supported throughout my time with Visteon. If I ever had a problem I could easily speak to my manager and he would help me resolve it.
I was always kept busy with one thing or another. Visteon has a lot of flexibility with work which means you always have opportunities to work on things that you are really interested in which is great.
I feel as a placement student I had a good amount of responsibility.
I think the skills I have gained over the year will really help me when continuing my studies and even into working life. Visteon teaches you a whole variety of skill sets from technical to business related skills, which makes everything you learn super useful later on.
The Company
Everyone is friendly and of course love to chat from time to time.
Overall, my placement was well organised.
Whenever I had the opportunity I would always put myself forward for training opportunities, I was never turned down from a chance to improve my knowledge.
Flexi Time
Above 25 days holiday
If the opportunity arose I would definitely consider coming back to Visteon.
The Culture
Other students were sociable and friendly, however only a couple of us lived in Chelmsford which made it harder to do things after work.
Cost of living is normal. Rent prices a slightly inflated because of the close proximity to London but not out of price range with the salary you get.
Lots of nice pubs. Only a couple of clubs
I wasn't involved in any outside of work activities so can't comment.
