    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • No day at Aldi is the same! For the first 6 months you work in store training up to assistant store manager level. You have full responsibility of the store, with the ability to have a real impact. For the second 6 months you have the opportunity to work on projects that can be rolled out across the region or even reviewed on a national basis. I had the opportunity to lead and oversea multiple projects that were rolled out across the region.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • Communication is one skill I have developed , and this has been through communicating to a range of roles within the business. One minute you could be talking to a cleaner, next minute it could be a regional director. Diary management is skill I have learnt, as with a busy schedule it is vital deadlines are not missed. This has also improved my time management skills having the ability to prioritise tasks. My leadership is one of the biggest skills I have improved, and Aldi gives you the opportunity to lead in a fast paced dynamic environment.
