    Overview

  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • Working within the Asset Management department, my role focuses on involvement within a number of surveying (primarily within the residential sector) and engineering based projects.

    Skills

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
  • The role demands good interpersonal skills, as the nature of the majority of work carried out relies on being able to communicate effectively, and the ability to manage your own workload efficiently. These are both skills that I have massively developed whilst on placement.

  • 8. What advice would you give to others applying to Michael Dyson Associates Ltd
  • I would advise that you visit the company website to ensure that the line of work is right for you before applying. I enjoyed my placement working within the Asset Management Team, the workload was primarily stock condition projects and engineering based works and I was aware of this before starting my placement. Anyone looking for more commercial based surveying experience might consider looking elsewhere as the majority of the workload was residential based.
