Overview
On a day-to-day basis, work typically includes data quality checks and analysis as well as putting together presentations and helping other members of the team on an ad-hoc basis. Our team was split by product category e.g. Leisure, DIY e.t.c. I was able to help across all of these categories which gave my job a good amount of diversity.
Skills
I've learnt how to present confidently in an office setting and analytical skills which I'll be able to use wherever I end up in my career.
Responsibilities
At first I wasn't given too much responsibility as I was very new to the company's ways of working and processes. About half way through the placement this changed and I was more involved in client work and more important tasks.
Support & Guidance
I received plenty of support and guidance including monthly performance reviews with my line manager and weekly catchups with my team. The office environment is very friendly and I never felt as though I couldn't ask anyone in the team for help.
Culture
The company culture is great, I was often reminded not to work out of hours and in general the work-life balance is really great. There's an emphasis on improving yourself and developing yourself professionally, especially because the average age of our wider team is quite young.
Your Impressions
I did enjoy my placement and don't regret choosing Kantar. There were times when work was challenging and in some cases quite tedious, however, I always felt motivated to get through these periods.
Yes
The company are just as interested in your personality as they are in your cognitive abilities. So remember to smile and ask questions in your interview and at the assessment centre. Stay organised on your first day and take lots of notes, you want to make a good first impression if you want to pass the end of year assessment.
