The Role
I really enjoyed working in a corporate environment alongside such patient, caring team members. I enjoyed learning about fraud risk trends as it was very new to me but very interesting. I also really enjoyed networking and connecting with the other interns. The Campus Recruitment team organized very insightful activities where we learnt about all aspects of Amex and also informally networked between ourselves.
In my team, everyone made me feel very welcome and were all happy to help out whenever needed. With the use of Skype, if I had any queries, I could ask anyone and everyone was willing to help
My manager and buddy looked after me very well by having regular catchups in order to check my work and also plan each week which was very helpful.
Usually I had 3-4 meetings a day and in the gaps I worked on my project. To be honest, it was down to you if you wanted to reach out to others and have meetings with them
I would responsible for analyzing ways in order to improve our fraud models in Amex. I was encouraged to pursue all perspectives and opportunities and some of my recommendations were suggested to executive members
I learnt how to code using SQL and learnt about fraud trends in the UK and EMEA region. Also worked on my soft skills to build relationships with a range of members of the organisation
The Company
We had two team meetings every week where as a team we chatted about topics unrelated to work. This was really fun and helped me connect with my team on a personal level
It was very well organized and planned with a good balance of project work, learning and networking
My buddy and manager went through and taught me the basics of coding and spent many hours checking my codes and data analysis
