The Role
Despite the internship taking place in the virtual environment, I still felt valued by and immersed into the company. During the internship, we were still able to make friends with the other interns and graduates, whilst also gaining high quality work experience. The projects we were set were engaging and important - adding to the enjoyment and intrigue. Overall, it was a very enjoyable and surprisingly social experience.
I felt valued by my colleague who provided ample time despite having to work virtually. If we ever needed anything, we had someone to turn to and ask questions. Meanwhile, the project I was given was crucial to the company's future strategy. Colleagues at various levels of seniority also reached out and offered there assistance when needed.
Throughout the internship, we had our own manager, as well as someone leading the programme. Time was also set aside for weekly development chats and support was offered whenever it was requested. The guidance was almost always clear and where clarification was required, I felt comfortable enough to ask.
Of course some days were busier than others! However, overall I was very busy and often had days packed full of meetings. The company culture also emphasized maintaining a work life balance, which is especially important when working from home.
I was given a very important project and a reasonable amount of independence to conduct research and make recommendations. It was a privilege to work on such an important project and I look forward to hopefully seeing my work come to life in the future.
I have developed a fantastic array of skills throughout the internship and am excited to use them in both academic and business settings! I have developed skills regarding collaboration, analysis, presenting and time management. I believe this somewhat new way of critical thinking will allow me to excel in years to come.
The Company
We were working in a virtual environment, however the atmosphere working with colleagues was still great! There were still lighthearted moments and we were able to build valuable relationships with colleagues.
Bearing in mind the virtual situation, the organisation was second to none. The internship leader arranged round tables, speakers and other events which engaged our intern stream and gave us ample exposure to the business! The projects and support were also fantastic.
The company invested a lot in to us! We were given significant attention by various leaders within the company. The culture in general is also heavily focused on development.

The employment prospects are very appealing! They have a graduate scheme which many interns are made offers to join.
The Culture
Yes! Despite, the internship being online, we were able to participate in many social events and build lasting relationships. I am certain this would be even better in the office.
Not applicable because it was virtual this year!
Not applicable because it was virtual this year!
Yes, there are colleague networks and frequent social events. I think that the company did pretty much the best they could considering we were working virtually.
