The Role
I enjoyed working in a professional environment with responsibility necessary to be independent.
My team were very welcoming and I very much felt a part of the team. They were helpful when giving job related advice and explaining tasks thoroughly.
I was given enough support to set me out on the right oath but I wasn't hand held which, on reflection was a good thing for me as I learned to become more independent.
Very busy, the travel involved in jobs also stacked up and made office hours more valuable. I learnt to spilt my time evenly and efficiently.
A great deal of responsibility, which I thought was very beneficial. I was very much expected to carry out tasks independently as I was a part of the time, not just someone who carried out filing for example.
I'm writing this review currently a few weeks into final year and the difference between my work ethic now and back in second year is clear. I have learnt to manage my time far more efficiently. In lectures I can be more involved and pick up/have knowledge and can relate to the content as at some point I have come across the topic whilst working at Dysons.
The Company
Work driven, which promotes hard working. Although my team (contract admin) were always up for a laugh.
Well organised - MDA internal systems are very in depth and took me a while to get to grips with, but I can see the benefit all the MDA procedures and protocols pose.
The company provided regular CPD training and offered help with APC to placement students who wished to get involved.
This company will instil a hard working mentality into its employees, which will serve you well whether you wish to stay on at Dysons or move elsewhere.
The Culture
Not bad. There was a few good local pubs/bars but wouldn't compare to a firm in a large city for example. But the surrounding area (Honley) is a nice village.
