The Role
My team were so welcoming, and they were prompt to help me learn about the business model prior to beginning my project. What I specifically enjoyed was meeting internal and external stakeholders who explained to me their roles within the project and experiences weekly meeting with all different kinds of employees was so interesting.
I was given lots of responsibility. From contributing to meetings containing over 20 members, to doing a presentation to wider teams containing very experienced colleagues, I frequently was put into positions which demonstrated I had high levels of responsibility.
I had weekly 121's, and any colleague was willing to make time for me with regards to guidance.
Sometime I was halted as I had to wait for information. However, I had side projects I was able to work on.
A great deal, I presented to groups on several occasions. I was also on calls and contributed to important meetings discussing future strategies.
Public speaking and presentational skills have improved. Definitely time management aswell.
The Company
Sociable. There was a perfect balance between getting your work done to a good standard, but also having fun in the office with colleagues. People also made time for me at any level in the business if I wanted to learn more about what the do, which helped me get a good understanding of potential roles I would like to pursue in the future.
Extremely well organised. I received my project plan and goals before I even started the internship from my manager. On top of this, we went over these goals within my first week to clarify any questions going into the rest of the internship. I was also given side projects which could improve my knowledge of marketing to a wider extent.
I had meetings and talks from all kinds of different companies who Amex worked with, whom all arranged a day for me to learn about how they worked with Amex. On top of this we recieved classes on Excel which was helpful going into projects. We also had a presentational skills class in our first week which was applicable to the remaining 9 weeks.

Sports and Social Club
Very, they encourage moving roles frequently and I have seen lots of past interns and graduates move up the ladder which is encouraging. There is a lot of lateral and vertical movement 18 months so nothing is monotonous if you are interested and willing to learn. I would say the future employment prospects remain appealing if you show determination and proper interest.
The Culture
The company and the interns themselves have been very effective at being welcoming. As a result outside of campus events we made great friends and regularly met up outside of work. For example, we had BBQ's and also regularly went for a drink or food after work or during the weekends.
Of course living in London can be expensive, however I do think the pay acknowledges this accordingly so this evened out. I think they key here is finding the right accommodation which could help over the course of 10 weeks.
Lots to do, bars, restaurants so a variety of options.
We got to go on an boat party around the Thames arranged by AMEX campus recruitment. We also had a drinks event in our first week, as well as volunteering at Holland park. They also offer frequent talks which were so interesting.
