The Role
I had a really good time at Amex
Very valued / I was taken into the team very quickly and felt supported throughout, by the campus team, every member of my team even those I did not work closely with, and everyone I met at Amex throughout the summer
A lot of support / weekly 121 meetings with my manager during which we would go over my projects and updates / also had a couple of meetings with other managers and my directors which were nice
it really depended... some days i had nothing to do and some days i had so much to do which i guess I normal but i would have preferred something more balance (never bored and more busy)
I was given a lot of responsibility / was in charge of a number projects / was the contact point with external creative agencies
continued to develop my skills working with data which hare useful for my degree everything i continued to learn I will use in the future, especially project and stakeholder management
The Company
corporate but relaxed / friendly but hardworking people / 9-5 and heavy emphasis on work life balance and personal development
pretty well organized / induction and traininin the beginning / mid intership review/ final presentation
quite a lot / some training in the beginning of the internship and a lot of manager support
Subsidised Canteen
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
very appealing / only problem is that we wouldn't know which team we would come back to
The Culture
it was great, we were pushed to socialize in the beginning but then I t happened naturally and everyone became good friends which was a great part of the internship
Victoria is quite expensive considering it is central so socializing around there was quite expensive / living in london is obviously very expensive
it's London...
the internship itself had many socializing events which was great / the boat party was amazing / volunteering was also a great opportunity to give back but be social / there are probably more opportunities when one is here full times and can join networks wtc
