The Role
Although this placement was challenging at times it was overall a very enjoyable experience. The people and work atmosphere really make this placement. The social aspect of the job is great. This placement will certainly help you improve your performance under pressure. If you can deal with the highly target driven nature of the job not only will you make a good amount of money each month but will definitely improve your ability to handle pressure.
I felt valued by my colleagues and superiors, the connections you will build with others in the work place are very helpful in perceiving through adversary and achieving targets. You are supported where needed and should repay the favor when new starters join.
Lots of support given. Feels like you're thrown in at the deep end initially but speaking from experience this is definitely the best way to learn. Managers are understanding and don't expect to much of you too quickly.
Always busy.
Limited.
I've developed many skills that will help me in my degree the time/pressure management is a big one, this placement puts you in a position that is unlike an experience you will get elsewhere. The ability to work with blue chip organisations like BT, Vodaphone etc gives you a much better understanding of big business operations also.
The Company
Great atmosphere, this has been the best bit about my placement. There are also alot of staff nights out, incentives and activities to keep you motivated throughout the week.
Organised well, you are treated the same as any other employee giving the most realistic experience of the job.
I felt/performed fairly competently at the role from the outset and therefore did not require a lot of training, however I felt confident it was there should I have needed it.
Financial Bonus
Above 25 days holiday
I would have no problem returning to Astute once my placement is done, however it is not exactly the industry I am aiming towards.
The Culture
Yes. There were a handful of placement students and I feel all of us integrated into the team well. The whole has a good social scene and are very welcoming of new starters which is important as throughout my time at Astute the workforce grew significantly on my campaign.
Normal Bournemouth prices.
Good uni nightlife.
Plenty.
