    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • By the end of my placement year I had really enjoyed the work undertaken. During my year I worked on a variety of projects in different departments and learnt a great deal. This exposure to different environments and processes was constantly interesting. I would highly recommend Fluor to any student looking for a placement.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was assigned immediately onto a project and worked under a manager who guided me throughout my first few months on the project. He would assign tasks and deliverables that were within an interns capabilities. He also personally oversaw my personal development and put goals to work to. This extended to each project I worked on with Fluor and is something that is common.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Day to day tasks were always available and days were never left empty. It helped being assigned to projects. Longer projects or tasks were assigned to myself to work on around day to day jobs.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere is good in the office and on site. There is a wide variety of people from all over the world so it's a great chance to meet new people. This was also the same at site and everyone always makes you feel welcome.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The construction internship is still fairly new within Fluor but they're very supportive in everything you do as an intern. I was immediately assigned to a project when I started. I was always supported by HR and the construction team throughout my placement.
