The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my internship as it was better than I hoped it would be and covered more aspects of working life than I thought possible in 10 weeks.
This was something I worried about when starting my internship, that I would feel like a burden to colleagues and co-workers, but turned out to be quite the opposite. I feel incredibly valued by managers and Amex staff, and felt welcome from my first interview. The attitude from the start was that my time was valuable and people were thankful for me taking the time to visit the office and be interviewed, which was not the case with some other companies I interviewed at.
Great support, I have one to one with my manager every week, and every other week with my director. I can ask questions and get help when needed.
Normally very busy, especially with all the extra activities planned for the interns.
I was given a good amount of responsibility, enough to feel like I could make a difference but not too much for me to feel like I couldn't handle it. Very good balance!
The internship has been very good for my preparation to enter full time work after my studies, and the improvement in my technical skills will be very valuable for me in my final year studies.
The Company
Great, my team is very jolly and happy to have a chat and a laughter, but people also make sure to get their work done. The paper aeroplane competition was just amazing!
Could hardly be organised any better. There was a lot of extra talks, some of which were inaudible over the phone and some where the content was aimed at a different intern group, but overall the organisation was brilliant!
Great support!

I have been incredibly happy here in the summer and would love to come back. We haven't heard whether we got the graduate placement yet, but I could definitely see myself here in the future if I were to get an offer.
The Culture
Honestly couldn't be better!
Expensive, but worth it. Not as expensive as London though, but to rent a place to live for 10 weeks in Brighton over the summer is very costly. We get staff discount around town though.
Good nightlife.
Yes! From volunteering work to competitions and outdoor activities.
