    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • It really is a great place to work, it is interactive, you develop your communication and problem solving skills, young environment open to new ideas. Feedback is a daily ritual and it is both ways, your manager gives you feedback and back. A really open environment, a lot of company integration opportunities which makes you have a good relation with your colleagues.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Even though I am only doing my internship over here I am being treated as one of the team and my input is just as valid as of my full time colleagues. I also get to take care of the customers, so I am given a lot of responsibility during my internship period.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • You start working in Applications Engineering department by following courses that introduce you to the development environment. Further you have senior colleagues on a place as well as online over the Skype who you can be your support for problems you run against or provide you with further points that are worth looking into.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I am fairly busy on every day basis, every day brings a different challenge to solve and it stay interactive, it is not an over whelming work load. I really enjoy problem solving that is necessary when troubleshooting others issues. However, if the work load becomes too much we have tools available to get everything in place.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I am given as much responsibility as other person working full time in ELP program, which makes me value my experience a lot since it is as close to the real engineering experience as you can get to during your internship. I also am measured against the same values as full time working employees.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Trouble solving skills, troubleshooting, looking at the problem for the other side, are the skills I am going to use in my life, and other outplacement companies. Software programming and getting familiar with the various hardware is also something that is going to definitely be used in my Engineering Career.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere in the office is nice, there are fun times and gatherings together and there is work time. It depends on how busy it is. We do have regular, we call it here "borrel"time where we catch up with one another. Also there is a lot of ,organized by the office, opportunities to meet your colleagues outside of a work environment,

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The structure of the company is very clear. I am aware that there were changes and merging of the regions happened recently how ever I must say that I am impressed by how smooth the collaboration with other countries is going. A great example of that are massive Skype meetings, that sometimes do run over the time, but the main agenda is kept.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The courses I have been thought have a large value on the market, I am also encouraged to take certifications, which are adding a value to my Engineering Degree. I do have a person of contact on the location as well as other people I can contact if I am lacking any knowledge, Company also promotes feedback, so you constantly improve.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Travel loan

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • The possibility to work for my outplacement company once I have graduated, is something I am definitely working into. I am genuine looking for this sort of an International Environment and youthful team. As well as working with the customers is another perk that I was looking for in my career.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The social scene among fellow placement students or colleagues is very professional. This is a professional environment, people working here are doing their best to be as professional and sharp they can be every day, even if they are still students. I must say I am really pleased with the social scene being this way.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I am travelling by train to the outplacement location every day. All I am paying are my regular living costs, which include the the rent and other utilities. This travelling has not added upon to any of the costs that I have already had, and the travelling time is something I have chosen for.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • This question is a bit odd, the whole survey is asking me about my outplacement location and then shifting oddly to a time frame outside it. As I have mentioned in the above question, I am travelling to the outplacement area so therefore I have no clue how the nightlife is over here.

    1/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, there are many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work. We have for example an Employee appreciation week in may where we are going to do various activities outside the work together as a team. As well as we are going to have on the office breakfast. Sounds fun!
