    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I enjoyed every moment of it. Its a fantastic job, working in the heart of London, with a fantastic team around you willing to aid you at every opportunity. In addition, you receive fantastic exposure to both senior people and prominent brands. You get to travel! I spent time in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Germany and was very close to visiting the Middle East. Not only is it great from a work angle, it is genuinely a very happy vibrant place to be!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Its fantastic to be in such a tight knit team. Working within the International region I work closely with colleagues abroad. Although in a virtual team I still believe it to be hugely rewarding. In addition, everyone is interested in helping you and furthering your education. So in that case I felt hugely valued as a member of the team.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My manager was particularly hands on, she is continually receptive to questions you have and will continue to further your learning. In addition she has a wealth of marketing experience and as such will benefit both your time in the placement and also from a wider learning perspective.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There is always a host of things to do, right from planning an event 3 months down the line, to speaking to colleagues in the Nordic countries.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a wealth of responsibility, from operating 3 events in Helsinki, Copenhagen and Stockholm to being given sole responsibility of collating all the win reports for the international region. My boss was never worried to throw me into the deep end as a result I learnt a significant amount more!

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As I have previously stated, my manger had vast quantities of experience in marketing. She would happily to take time out of her day to assist with University work and provide insightful input. Much of the work I do is done on tools that need training. However so much of it is learnt when you are operating the tools yourself so inevitably learn the necessary information very quickly!
