My placement year working in TGB and Product Marketing has been amazing, the company truly cares for its employees and has provided us an excellent environment to work in. Working in Product Marketing has been fun, with the role of product research and launches, although during launches it can be very busy, but the perks are the opportunities to try out our own and competitor's new cars. This is particularly exciting for a petrol head like me.
I've really enjoyed my placement at Toyota GB, as from day one everyone was really welcoming and would introduce themselves around the office. In particular as time has gone on I have looked at my team more like family than work colleagues. Another great bonus to the placement scheme at Toyota was having 20 other students in the same boat as yourself. All of which became great friends, and I will stay in touch with them far in the future. I was also lucky enough to travel to Cologne with some of the staff for a European 7- aside football tournament against other Toyota countries, from which we came home victorious! There where also many events throughout the year, including best companies day, which were all great fun to take part in!
Overall I have had a positive working at Toyota. I am grateful to have been exposed to so many new opportunities in terms of learning and development. In particular, I enjoyed my role as I was able to see active changes and improvements as a result of my work throughout the year. There was also a great social aspect, the placement scheme included 20 other students. Working was never dull in such a dynamic business and the 12 months flew by.
I found the year pretty tough. This was mainly due to having so much fun at University then having to go straight into full time. However, I did find the placement very enjoyable at times such as completing projects and working with others. Overall, I would say it was very tough at times and I found myself not enjoying myself but I am glad I did a placement because I learnt a lot and will enjoy 3rd year more at University.
I have had a really enjoyable year, gaining a vast amount of experience and knowledge of the workplace environment. I enjoyed the company culture very much, learning all about efficient ways of working. I also got the opportunity to meet lots of new people who have helped me learn on the way and enjoyed the work life lifestyle at the office. This year will defiantly to benefit my future, and i am very happy I decided to do the year.
Great experience. Had actual responsibilities and was involved in multiple projects. Was not there to give coffee to managers etc. Had the opportunity to travel as well, all expenses paid for. Social aspect was equally good. Tennis games once a week, Monday Night Football every week, Christmas parties, Halloween parties etc. I also had the ability of flexible working. I could work from home once a week if needed, a doctors appointment for example, or go in a bit later and leave a bit later.
I throroughly enjoyed my placement at Toyota. I was allowed to be a part and contribute to meaningful and important work whilst building my interpersonal skills that I can take beyond my degree. I had some excellent exposure to the marketing discipline and how a big brand works. Working alongside 20 other placement students also helped the experience as we always had someone we were comfortbale working with. Everyone at TGB is extremely nice and working patterns/conditions are very flexible.
The Placement at Toyota UK has probably been my favourite year of "University" so far. The work in the field I love and in a brand I adore is all I could have asked for. What is great about this company is that from day one you will be tasked with exercises that have a real impact on the business, I enjoyed the independence I had as it was a healthy balance of undertaking my own initiatives and projects and working as a part of a team. Through the year I made great friends, learnt lots about the automotive industry and operations sector and gained valuable insight into real-life work situations. It has been a great year and enjoyed it thoroughly.
I had a fantastic placement year working at Toyota GB. All fellow colleges were extremely supportive and helpful, enabling the placement students (such as myself) to gain the most out of their placement. I enjoyed the work I completed throughout the year, especially the projects that I was given responsibility for. I also enjoyed being in the workplace due to the office atmosphere. HR hosted many events throughout the year to to keep spirits high and to ensure all employees feel valued. It also helped departments to mix so that you could meet different people from various departments in the business.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Toyota GB. I have had opportunities that I never expected to be given on a placement; attending product launches, experiencing the products and representing the brands at multiple events. The student culture at Toyota is a big part of the overall experience, having so many students across the business means that you always have a way in to talk to people across departments and I got stuck in to as many sports and social activities as possible along with the other students that allows you to meet new people and have fun away from the office. There are also multiple away days and special days in the office that keep it exciting, and the office itself is a very enjoyable place to work.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at Toyota GB. Everyone was so helpful and welcoming from the first day, and I really felt like a valued member of the company. Toyota offered great support and opportunities, and I left my placement with valuable skills and knowledge that I could use in further life. Couldn't of asked for a better year!
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Toyota. They treat you very well and arrange multiple socials and parties throughout the year. There is a large Toyota student cohort to socialise with outside of work too. When describing my job to family and friends the first thing I would say is it's a beautiful building to work in, the second is that they employ a 'Toyota personality' which is essentially just an all-round nice person, but it makes for an easy atmosphere.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Toyota and I feel that is mainly credit to my team and wider department for making me feel so welcome and encouraging me to constantly ask questions to gain a better understanding. I enjoyed my role in that I was given a lot of autonomy to make changes and saw many positive improvements throughout the year. Also, the social side within the company and the student cohort was great. I have made lifelong friends this year.
I have been on a 2 year placement in Toyota's Product Marketing team, and I have loved every minute. I got to get involved with real launches of vehicles to the UK market. I was given huge responsibilities on business critical tasks such as Pricing and Homologation, as well as a plethora of other activities. Some of the models I helped bring to market include the Face lifted 2019 Aygo, Yaris GRMN (Hot Hatch), New Generation Corolla, and the Iconic Toyota Supra.
As a whole I really enjoyed it, I couldn't of dreamt of better start to my working career. The building itself created a fantastic working environment, everyone is really friendly and approachable which is great when you're a student on placement. The only major negative was moving to the area, Epsom is a horrendously expensive place to move too and live. Myself and a number of other students were treated very poorly by a number of different local estate agents, which unfortunately did negatively impact my work/home life this year.
Overall I had an amazing year at Toyota GB. My team and the company were so welcoming from day 1. I was given so many amazing opportunities over the year and have gained so many new valuable skills that I will forever cherish. I met so many amazing people during my year and I will really miss it.
I loved my year long placement at Toyota GB. I was given a ownership of some big projects, yet supported through every milestone. The company culture is excellent, and has proved a wonderful place to work. Toyota provide lots of training, meaning you develop transferable skills that can be used on a day-to-day basis.
I thoroughly enjoyed my placement at Toyota GB. Every moment from submitting my application up until handing my car back on my last day has been superb. The company possesses a very friendly and welcoming culture where you just grow and learn a bit more each day all whilst performing a valuable job with implications that reach far beyond the 250+ dealerships in the dealer network.
I have had the best year on placement, helped greatly by the team I was working with and the in-house agency. Everyone at Toyota is so friendly and are keen to help the students learn and develop throughout their time on placement. The tasks I was given gave me an insight into what it is like to work in a large company.
