  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
  • I would provide budgetary management for the team, update centre websites, work with external agencies in briefing and creative/copy approval for CRM campaigns, adhoc projects and internal reporting distribution

  • I have developed my communication, team work and organisational skills as I adapted to the office environment, and have gained new skills in solo presentation skills, leadership and adaptability.

    Responsibilities

  • 3. Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
  • Toyota places a lot of responsibility on their placement students and you are an important member of the team. I not only supported in some projects, but lead some projects myself with external agencies. I worked for Lexus which is a smaller team, so my responsibilities were important for the wider team also such as budgetary management.

    Support & Guidance

  • 4. How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
  • I had weekly 1-1s with my manager who would support abs guide me through any activity i was doing. As well, we could always reach out to HR, and tan tone around the company is always very willing to support your work when asked.

  • 5. What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
  • There is a great company culture. There are lots of events like green month and pride month that encourages inclusivity, there is also sports events after work and charity events that encourage everyone to socialise.

    Your Impressions

  • 6. To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement year at Toyota GB for Lexus CRM. I have received lots of training and developed my skills and this placement has definitely prepared me for the future work place. I really enjoyed the company culture, and student culture and had lots of opportunities to socialise with my colleagues and make friends.
