I have really enjoyed my stay at the firm. I have learnt a lot about the company and it gave me a brief idea of how I will implement my degree to real life. I believe it was a really good push for my future career and education. Aside from work, the company is very active, there are a range of activities one can join in after working hours.
This scheme was incredibly enjoyable. The firm really made an effort to make us all feel welcome despite the fact we are only there for two days. They made a particular effort to ensure that you were placed in departments were of interest to us. There was a social occasion including a dinner with members from throughout the firm on the final night. Having attended several first year schemes this was the most enjoyable.
I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent at Ashurst. I felt the vacation scheme gave a very real and genuine insight into what life at Ashurst as a trainee would be like, and cemented my ambition of trying to secure a Training Contract there. Everyone was extremely welcoming, and the socials were very enjoyable, as I got to experience fun things such as bowling at the All Star Lanes and going up the Shard. The work was stimulating and enjoyable, and I felt as though I was contributing and helping the clients with the work I was doing. I also particularly enjoyed the 'Ashopoly' task. It provided a wonderful opportunity to see more of London, as well as learn more about the deals Ashurst has been involved in.
My week at Ashurst gave me a fantastic insight into the life and work of an International lawyer. Sitting in the Dispute Resolution department, I was exposed to actual work, which enabled me to draw upon the skills I have learnt throughout my undergraduate degree. It was a priceless opportunity, and one which I thoroughly recommend to anyone interested in pursuing a International legal career.
The placement scheme was certainly rewarding and insightful. It definitely provided an opportunity to experience Ashurst's professional and inclusive culture, while completing interesting and challenging pieces of work.
