The Role
I found this placement very enjoyable from start to finish. It was quite a repetitive role but very rewarding. Peninsula is a great place to work and you are surrounded by people who are striving to achieve. There wasn't a day were I didn't learn something new and interesting. I really have thoroughly enjoyed my time here and would recommend to anyone.
From the very beginning, I felt part of the Client Satisfaction team and part of the Peninsula Family. Leave Peninsula proved very hard and I will miss everyone very dearly.
My manager, was nothing short of amazing. He taught me so many new and exciting things, which have enabled me to develop my skill sets. I was stimulated by incentives and was encouraged to push and challenge myself by stepping outside of my comfort zone.
Some days were busier than others, which comes with every job. I was never over faced by work and feel that despite my role being target driven, should I ever have found myself under too much pressure that I would have been able to speak to my manager and relieve myself of some work.
I loved how much responsibility I was given. After being shown the ropes I was given sole responsibility of many things. I can't give it a ten purely because I was never over confident with writing emails and so my manager was always on hand to help me.
The skills that I have developed here have enhanced my CV greatly as it is in an area of work that my future employees in the market and advertising field would see as a huge benefit. This placement has given me so much more confidence and I have received praise from many senior figures including the directors within Peninsula. With regards to my studies, due to my daily task lists that included responding to feedback, writing emails and reports my English language skills have been advanced and I feel that I will be better equipped going into my third year at Leeds.
The Company
Great atmosphere. Every day was enjoyable. Everyone is so friendly and help full; nothing was ever too much trouble.
I did this off my own back by uploading my CV. They contacted me and sorted everything out.
In such a short period of time I was heavily invested in. Knowing that I was going in as an intern I didn't expect any benefits but like everyone else there was many. Also my manager went out of his way on a daily basis to ensure that I learnt something new everyday and every question I asked was answered in detail.

A few weeks in I was offered a 12 months placement but unfortunately I had to turn it down (with a very heavy heart). After my that 12 months a permanent position would have been mine. I still believe that I would still have a strong chance of getting a place onto a Grad Scheme as I have made such an impression (their words not mine). The career prospects here are great if you're will to go out their and grab each opportunity.
The Culture
I can't really comment on one aspect of this as as there was no fellow students. However, as a team we went on two nights out and went for drinks every friday after work.
I live in the city of Manchester so it is cheap as you make it. Socializing with work was never too much and as it was usually on pay day it was prime time to go out and socialize.
Its Manchester...there is something for everyone!
As I have only been here a short period it is difficult to comment as there is only so much that you can fit into a few months. I know the activities calendar for the next few months looks great - unfortunately I wont be here to experience them
