The Role
It was a brilliant year for me overall.
Most of my colleagues had no idea I was only a placement student and definitely made me feel part of the company.
My manager was in frequent contact with me - nearly micro managing each aspect of my role without being too overbearing.
There was always a lot of work to process, but never too much that I was overrun at any one point.
A lot of the time my manager would leave things up to me and encouraged me to take new tasks on.
They were skills that I acquired for that particular role, but I don't think they were too transferable to other jobs.
The Company
It's a very modern and busy office, with a vibrant sales floor where I worked.
They had a lot of previous placement students and it was a easy transition period from the old student to myself.
Very little to no training was provided, however the company invested in me by offering me a full time role once I had finished my studies.
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Within the department I work in there is no real room to progress upwards.
The Culture
Not so much with any placement students, but there was social events each month to attend.
Based in Manchester City centre so there is both expensive and reasonable places to drink
Can't beat a great night out in Manchester.
At the time it was a bit limited, but it has progressed since my initial placement - it all depends how much you put into the role.
