  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • I really enjoyed the insight week - it is the first time I have had real experience working in a legal environment.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?

    • The social meetings set up did help me feel valued and I was also surprised that I was allowed to provide assistance on 'real' cases. As the firm is so big, I think it would be hard to feel 'like family' straight away, but the team I was in did try and make me feel at home.

    • The right amount - support was there if you required it.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • The information I have learnt will help me move further with my career - it was nice to use certain elements I had learnt at university in practice and understand what a lawyer's day is actually like!

    • Very well structured.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • The atmosphere was good - the trainees were especially friendly and made me feel like I always had someone to go to if I needed help.

    • The insight was only for a week so there was not much opportunity for the firm to 'invest' in me.

    • Very much so - I now have a really good idea of what being a trainee at Walker Morris would entail.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?

    • Maybe more could have been said about the company culture, although we did have one talk regarded company values. I think I have an idea from working in a department what is expected and how the firm operates etc.

    • It has certainly re-confirmed that I do want to be a lawyer.

    • I think the pay is adequate for the experience and opportunity.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?

    • Yes - many opportunities, although mainly with trainees.

    • Really good - well organised and fun!

    • Yes - Walker Morris has lots going on in terms of after-work activities.
