    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I am 6 months into my placement and have loved every second of it. I strongly believe in the saying 'the people make the place' and I can honestly say that all of my colleagues have been a pleasure to work with. Everyone has been so lovely and welcoming.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I have been given real responsibility from day one, and this has really helped me to feel valued within the team. Disney are extremely generous to all of their employees and have provided me with many exciting opportunities.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The support provided by Disney has been incredible. I felt intimidated and completely out of my comfort zone when I started, but I was able to receive one-on-one training and guidance which was invaluable.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • My workload gradually increased over time which meant that I have never felt overwhelmed by the work I have been asked to complete. As with all jobs, there are periods when I am extremely busy but as I enjoy the role, I do not mind staying late in order to get the task done. However, it is important to add that you will not be pressured into working late and all of my colleagues have been extremely understanding when it comes to work loads. As long as you give plenty of notice, they do not have an issue if you are unable to meet a deadline if you were busy working on higher priority tasks.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • The responsibility increased over time as my skills developed. I took a hands-on role in several Projects from a few weeks into my placement, working closely with other colleagues who guided me through the process. However, as time has gone on I have been given more individual responsibility.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The placement has been invaluable in developing my skills - both technical and soft skills. I now feel so much more comfortable and confident in a place of work, and this will put me in good stead when I apply for future jobs.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office is quite laid back- they even encourage you to decorate your desks with Disney plush toys! As everybody is so friendly. you'll often find people greeting you good morning as you walk to the kitchen to get breakfast!

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It is really well organised - there is always somebody available to talk to who will be able to answer any questions you have.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There are plans for me to participate in external training later next year.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Working from home

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I would love to work for Disney in the future - they treat their employees well and as a result, you want to work hard for them.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Excellent - as there are so many interns at Disney, there are always social events/house parties etc to go to.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The average price per month is around £500-£650 for accommodation. The nearer you live to Hammersmith, the less money you will spend on travel. People tend not to go on nights out, but more cocktails or drinks after work.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Really good - we even get 2 for 1 cocktails with our Disney badges at Be At One cocktail bar in Hammersmith!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes - Volunteer events, sports teams etc...

    5/5
