    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I am enjoying working at the hotel in the department I was looking to get into. I get treated and feel like a permanent member of staff, not like an intern. Great experience overall.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I work in a great team where even when my coleagues are busy, they will take some time to help me and do not mind explaining things again.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Good suppport given, it is nice to be checked up on every once in a while and help you. However, I beleive a more in-death training should be provided at the beginning of the placement.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Good work load. If someone is too busy, they will let us know and everyone is happy to help out.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I feel like I have been given a lot of responsibility being a placement student. Taking enquiries and running events for big clients is more than I ever expected from an internship. Great experience.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learned and will keep learning about sales, how to deal with complaints and communicating with other departments. A lot left to learn but it will ome with time!

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Good atmosphere, everyone is lovely. It is nice to wor closely and help each other out. It does get stressful and very busy sometimes, but everyone is supportive.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • As previously mentioned, I would have rather had more training at the beginning of my pleacement buit understand the turnover is very high and therefore had to accomodate to the environment quickly. However, everyone was really helpful and I learned a lot even without full training.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • By being trated like any other member of staff, I am given a lot more resposibility and feel like I am leaning more than other students in their placements.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Above 25 days holiday

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I already got offered a graduate job, which is great given that I have only worked here for 3 months.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • It is very nice to have other placement students I can discuss the experience with, and who are in the same situation. Everyone is lovely so it is great to speak to them about the placement.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The area is quite expensive but it is work it since the area is really nice!

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There are a few bars, but other areas are more popular

    1/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • We do have a few evenings when the team meets for cocktails.
