The Role
I am enjoying working at the hotel in the department I was looking to get into. I get treated and feel like a permanent member of staff, not like an intern. Great experience overall.
I work in a great team where even when my coleagues are busy, they will take some time to help me and do not mind explaining things again.
Good suppport given, it is nice to be checked up on every once in a while and help you. However, I beleive a more in-death training should be provided at the beginning of the placement.
Good work load. If someone is too busy, they will let us know and everyone is happy to help out.
I feel like I have been given a lot of responsibility being a placement student. Taking enquiries and running events for big clients is more than I ever expected from an internship. Great experience.
I have learned and will keep learning about sales, how to deal with complaints and communicating with other departments. A lot left to learn but it will ome with time!
The Company
Good atmosphere, everyone is lovely. It is nice to wor closely and help each other out. It does get stressful and very busy sometimes, but everyone is supportive.
As previously mentioned, I would have rather had more training at the beginning of my pleacement buit understand the turnover is very high and therefore had to accomodate to the environment quickly. However, everyone was really helpful and I learned a lot even without full training.
By being trated like any other member of staff, I am given a lot more resposibility and feel like I am leaning more than other students in their placements.
Subsidised Canteen
Above 25 days holiday
I already got offered a graduate job, which is great given that I have only worked here for 3 months.
The Culture
It is very nice to have other placement students I can discuss the experience with, and who are in the same situation. Everyone is lovely so it is great to speak to them about the placement.
The area is quite expensive but it is work it since the area is really nice!
There are a few bars, but other areas are more popular
We do have a few evenings when the team meets for cocktails.
