    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I have been with the company for nearly 4 months and so far I am very much enjoying my placement role.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I currently working in the events department with a lovely team of colleagues. When I first come into the office everyone made me feel welcome and still continuously provide me with support and guidence.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • When I first come into the office my manger introduced me to all of the team and also sent me on a variety of traniing courses to allow to to gain an understanding of the company and the system used by the hotel this enabled me to feel more confident within my role.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • The job was extremely busy, however this has enabled me to work under pressure and also gain a lot of experience within my role and others

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • on a daily basis I deal with Enquries, events and billing which is a very high responsible job role

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I am now able to use skills such as; customer service skills, planning and design, operation, billing within future job which will enhance my employability

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The majority of the time my team were very helpful and enthusiastic, however when the office was busy and needed to deliver to the deadlines set, the atmosphere could be more stressful.

  • All the relevant training was provided to me at the beginning of my placement and I have been supported throughout my daily tasks.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I have a good relationship with all the people in my office and socialize with them after work

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As my working place is based in St Pauls, prices were high so we tended to go out of the central area.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes, my team and I go out for drinks after work and go to the gym after work most nights
