The Role
I really enjoyed the autonomy that the company gave me from the start. They believed in my ability so the opportunities were endless. As the company is so large, they have a lot of leeway for suggestions to improve and their implementation This allowed me to have fun and make the difference I intended to do..
From the offset I felt like a family member within my specific team and as a whole branch team. I think they enjoyed having an energetic member with passion for their future, which allowed them to warm easily. I have now taken on a part time role during university and even though I only go 1 day a week I always feel welcomed as soon as I walk through the door.
The support I was given was remarkable. I cannot express how pleased I was with my manager. Being a three month Intern I didn't expect to delve too deep into the business side, but more to gain an overall experience. However the manager took me under my wing and allowed me to spread my feathers so to speak.
Very busy, I went to a very fast paced branch due to my short term placement to gain as much experience as possible.
As much as I was willing to grasp. As I have mentioned their size allows them to give autonomy and the mistakes you are undoubtedly going to make along the way shape and twist the future of your career with the firm.
It allowed me to see that my studies weren't just to graduate but they are to be used in the workplace. I was surprised to see how much of what I have learnt can be applied to the business surroundings which was refreshing to see.
The Company
The atmosphere was great, yes we had our down moments when things weren't going to plan, but that is inevitable in all business sectors. But overall, the atmosphere was great and provided a fun and friendly feel that customers could see, showing that teamwork ruled the roost.
Very well, they have been doing them for such a long time that they know which was to steer the learning to maximise the time you have with them. No faults here!
An unbelievable amount, as I have previously said, the manager at the Airport; Raj, invested a lot more time and effort than I originally expected and I can only be thankful for that.

Very, having completed the internship I have now gained a guaranteed place on the graduate scheme, something I am so thankful to have secured, I also work part-time during my degree to accrue extra income.
The Culture
Yes, I had another 3 interns with me and we all had an amazing summer with the firm.
It was in the heart of Birmingham so not too expensive but if you were to shop only in the airport then taxes were a killer!
Good, we were in the middle of Birmingham meaning that Broad Street was only round the corner.
Yes, there were charity events, success story celebrations, leaving does and so much more that you could get involved with.
