The Role
It wasn't as bad an internship like you see in some movies or reality shows where they make the interns clean the toilets and do demeaning things. But sometimes the work i did seemd a bit under appreciated and this brought me down. I give it a 7 out of 10,
The colleagues are the best part. Most of the other people i worked with were also interns so it was good fun, we tied nice friendships, used to go out together, meet in weekends etc and at work they were very encouraging.
Rather than support, sometimes i felt that my supervisors don't trust my work. If i was talking with outside partners, every email had to be checked before sending. Sometimes even a small mistake brought a lot of criticism, but sometimes it was all good, i gues it depended on the mood of the managers in that day.
Sometimes very busy, otherwise not at all, depending on the project we were working on.
I was eventually allowed to account manage my own partnerships in the project, although the big correspondence with the clients was checked by the manager. But mostly i felt that i had a lot of important work going on.
It was really good for me, i learned valuable skills in my field but most important i felt that i would be more confident to apply for a job having already the experience of office life.
The Company
It was generally really nice, expecially in the brakes, lunch, cigarette brakes, etc. SOmetimes we were very stressed, though but because of the work. There were no office dramas.
It was ok, minus one thing - there are too many interns, it seemed that more than half of the people in the company are interns.
They didnt really invest anything in training, i learned most of hte things while working and from colleagues, mostly.
Subsidised Canteen
Travel loan
Some people got jobs really easily with them. I did too and i continue to work here through my uni.
The Culture
Yeah, we used to go out on fridays and thursday, usually. Not as much now, though.
very expensive, but Fulham is generally an expensive area
Not much NIGHTlife, but after work there were a few good pubs to go to.
Recently a gym opened up in the building and we're getting free trial sessions. Other than that not much.
